Recognizing Crew of Jos Merrick Jones for Lifesaving Efforts

The crew of Canal Barge Company’s M/V Joseph Merrick Jones receiving Lifesaving and Safety Achievement Awards from the Seaman’s Church Institute and the Chamber of Shipping of America.  These honors are in recognition for their heroic efforts in rescuing three mariners from a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers towboat that sank in the Baton Rouge Harbor in 2020. 

We are so proud of the members of the CBC family who, in the great maritime tradition of helping those in need on the water, sprang into action immediately to save the lives of their fellow mariners.
